It seems that a team not making the playoffs in 26 years has everyone worried...and rightfully so.
Here are some responses to my earlier blog What, Me Worry?
Mike from Kenosha writes:
You pretty much summed up my worries. You didn't include the "Windmill" Dale Sveum at third base, the lack of situational hitting on this team, and Ben Sheets making bad pitches with 2 outs and 2 strikes. I think all of these will eventually catch up to the Brewers and we will be watching the playoffs on tv once again. Hope I'm wrong.
And.....I can't stand all of the Cub fans down here. It's brutal!!
Well said Mike. Although I still think the Brewers will make the playoffs. Stay strong among all those weak (Cubs) people in Kenosha!
Brad from Sheboygan is on a roll:
I completely agree with you Lance. The Brewers have some red flags, that’s for sure! I really think that Yost overuses his
marquee players and doesn’t have enough confidence in his bullpen and bench players to produce. Like why did Braun have to come back so quickly? We are playing cupcake teams, except for LA, but Kapler was playing just fine while Braun was out! If we had a series against the Cubs soon I would want Braun to play, but we play Pittsburgh 6 times in the next 12 days. We should be able to manage at least a split with STL even if Braun is out, because Sheets and Parra pitch the two games in STL. I also believe he over uses CC a lot. I know that he is a workhorse, but why does he need to pitch the ninth with a six run lead? Is Mota that bad that he can’t get three outs without surrendering 6 runs? I mean look at the Cubs with all their pitchers, they take them out in the 6th and 7th innings if it is a blowout no matter how high their pitch count is or how well their pitching. Pinella knows he’s going to need his pitchers in the playoffs. Any bullpen, besides the Mets, should be able to pitch two or three meaningless innings ever once and awhile. That’s why we have Mota and Villanueva, for blowouts. Sorry about the length of this email, but thanks for listening. I had to get that off my chest!

Man Brad, I think you're managerial material after that rant!
