THIS BRETT FAVRE SAGA IS GOING TO END BADLY
AND HE'S GOING TO PLAY FOR ANOTHER TEAM
I just got back from GB, it's 1am, so I'll make this brief and to the point (there's a first time for everything, you know).
This Brett Favre un-retirement story is going to end badly folks, and brace yourself here...if he does truly come back, he's going to be wearing the gear of some other team.
Remember when we had LeRoy Butler on our set, and he not only insisted that Brett would play again, but he said Brett would play for a division team? That seemed a little far fetched at the time...but the man certainly doesn't seem off his rocker now.
Everything points to the Packers moving on. The whole offseason was geared to getting Aaron Rodgers ready. The offense was tweaked on his behalf. And Mike McCarthy and Ted Thompson not coaxing Favre out of retirement, after he retired proved that.
Jason Wilde of the WI State Journal has a source that insists either Favre or his agent James "Bus" Cook asked for Favre's release so he could play for another team. I believe it. Remember, in May of 2007, Cook asked GM Ted Thompson for a trade of Favre because they weren't happy with the offseason moves (or lack thereof) the team had that year.
Favre has been throwing to prep players at his daughter's old high school in Mississippi, and running track with them as well. That's far from getting you in NFL shape, like the core training he did the past 3 offseasons with Ken Kroener. But don't you think for one minute that a team like the Bucs, Lions, Jets, Falcons, Chiefs, Ravens or even (gasp!) the Bears or Vikes would love to get their hands on this legend even for a season or 2...before he truly does call it quits.
