SHEETS BASHERS: WHERE YOU AT?
ALL SEEMS QUIET BETWEEN THE SHEETS NOW
Let me get this straight.
Ben Sheets has 3 complete games, tied for second most in the majors.
He has wins in his last 5 decisions.
He is 6-0 in 10 road starts.
He just retired the last 16 batters he faced.
But if some of you out there had your wish, he'd be doing this for the Yankees...or the Dodgers...or the Mets.
C'mon, fess up. I heard some of you say trade Sheets now, while you can get something for him. Get rid of the bum, he's always hurt.
Well, I'll admit Sheets is far from a workout warrior...but you trade him now, or in July...and this team has NO prayer of making the playoffs. In fact, I'll go a step farther and say if they don't try to re-sign him hard in the offseason, this team could regress with no true ace.
Please tell me how somebody could be that soft, and have 3 complete games and easily have a fourth? Yes, I predicted Sheets would have a big year in his contract year...but good for him. When he's healthy, there are few in his league.
C'mon all you know it alls out there...I'd love to hear from you, and admit that you have egg on your face on this one. Because if you don't admit it, you're far softer and way weaker than Sheets and all your rips of him you've thrown his way. So please don't say I told you or jump on the Sheets bandwagon when this guy's right arm carries the Brewers to their first postseason berth in 26 years!
