Favre Kicks It Off

Leave it to the Packers to start March Madness early.
An accidental posting of a link to a Brett Favre retirement story, almost like bumping into a fire alarm. Once it goes off, you can say it's false all you want...as everyone runs around like a freak.
I do have every reason to believe nothing is going on at this point, because everyone I've talked to says Brett hasn't made up his mind...yet. The death of long time family friend Ronnie Hebert should delay his decision until next week.
Favre is really torn...and those that know him are surprised he's not as enthusiastic about playing as what you might think. Those in the know say Favre thinks last year was his finest year, but the most stressful...because with a young team, he knew the margin for error was razor thin.
The Washington Post first reported that DT Corey Williams would be traded to the Browns...and I confirmed through an NFL source that it will be for a 2nd round pick. Not bad, as Corey gets a 6-year deal worth about $38 million...and Ted Thompson gets the 56th overall pick that he can keep...or use to trade up.
As free agency starts, expect the Packers to sniff around the tight end position. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't make a run at former Falcon Alge Crumpler.
The signing of OL Joe Toledo gives the Packers flexibility. He could back up RT Mark Tauscher, and possibly challenge for a guard spot.
I'm also thinking LB and CB could get a look in free agency.
The other thing I'm hearing...there's a distinct chance LS Rob Davis hangs 'em up, and just works in the Packers player development role he started dabbling in last year. And LB Tracy White will likely test the free agent market.
