Sometimes, from the mouth of babes...comes great wisdom.
I hadn't taken any vacation time since October, so before Memorial Day weekend, I needed a quick break. My wife and I decide to go to Chicago.
The first day, you can tell the photo is of me, my twins Brendan and Ethan, and my always opinionated daughter Rebekah. Walking back from the Shedd Aquarium, my daughter says "Daddy, what is that?" I say, "why that's Soldier Field honey...where the Bears play."
To which Rebekah replies, "Daddy, that place looks weird!"
I couldn't have said it better myself. The architects should have talked to my daughter before rubber stamping this ugly train wreck.
I learned another valuable lesson the next day. At Wrigley Field, my daughter starts singing the Go Cubs Win song. I'm like honey, where on earth did you pick that up from? Come to find out, she went to a friend's birthday party...and her buddy's parents made a mix CD with Happy Birthday, Hannah Montana, and you guessed it...about 9 tracks in is that propaganda.
I told Rebekah we don't sing that...and yes, I'm proud to say she stood up and cheered when the Dodgers scored their only run of the day on Memorial Day. She's catching on!
