In the season opener, the Packers quite frankly got kicked in the teeth against the 49ers, losing 30-22 and it wasn't even as close as the 8 point defeat.
Just like against the Vikings, the Packers need to do a better job in the run defense department. San Fran came to Lambeau and gored the Pack for 186 yards. Frank Gore the main one doing the gashing, averaging 7 yards per rush. Just like how Peterson went from 210 and 199 in the regular season to 99 in the postseason, the Packers need to do the same in this situation.
Aaron Rodgers was sacked 3 times in week one. Aldon Smith has 19 1/2 sacks, but none since Justin Smith partially tore his triceps muscle. The Smith's usually line up on the same side.
And speaking of Rodgers, he grew up cheering for the 49ers as a kid. Those childhood dreams dashed when he sat in that 2005 NFL Draft Day green room and watched San Fran pick Alex Smith number one overall. Now Smith sits on the bench, with Rodgers the reigning MVP. Rodgers is usually a pretty cool customer, but in front of family and friends he needs to harness his emotions and ride the wave of motivation to victory.
