New Badgers Coach Gary Andersen Is Unknown
But Here Are A Few Known Things
If anyone tells you they know all about Gary Andersen around these parts, run for the exit, or ask that person for stock tips. Because hardly anyone knows much about the man tabbed to become the new Badgers Head Coach.
The little we know? He ran the spread at Utah State, but he coached on the defensive side of the ball when he was an assistant.
He was the defensive coordinator at Utah in 2008 under Kyle Whittingham when the Utes went 13-0.
He was the defensive line coach at Utah in 2004 under now Ohio State Head Coach Urban Meyer when the Utes went undefeated.
And after almost upsetting the Badgers in Madison this year, and falling 16-14 basically due to a missed field goal, Utah State only lost 2 games...that one by 2, and BYU by 3...missing an undefeated season by 5 points.
One good thing? Andersen can start quickly, since Utah State beat Toledo 41-15 in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl on December 15, and the Aggies season is over.
