Now You Can Bash a Real NFL Ref
The Packers Loss The Tipping Point
Nearly 48 hours to the minute after the Packers lost on a controversial call vs. the Seahawks, the regular referees are back. And it appears the Pack victory stolen in Seattle, was the tipping point.
A source tells me the new 8-year deal will be ratified, and regular refs will be on the field Sunday at Lambeau Field when the Packers host the Saints.
The same source says NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell called an emergency meeting Tuesday with the owners, and asked for nearly $5 million dollars more to help push the negotiations.
Clearly it worked, and now Ed Hochuli, Jeff Triplette and other officials have never been so popular.
One of the big selling points for the officials? The addition of 3 new crews, almost like "ref interns" to learn the game, sub in if needed, and be referees in training or officials of the future.
But for now, football fans that they can just bash a real ref...instead of ripping a replacement.
