Packers Secondary Could Be Primary Concern
And Other Draft Notes
When talking with an NFL personnel official, we talked about OLB's, rush DE's, and other issues the Packers defense had last season.
But this person actually targeted a different part of the Packers defense with this statement:
"They should try to upgrade a secondary that is getting long in the tooth and short on talent."
Sounds like they don't think Nick Collins is coming back, and other parts of the secondary need a youth infusion and an upgrade.
I'm told by a Packers source that it's important but not the end of the world if they get a rush LB or a DE in the first 2 rounds. But as always, if a higher rated player falls, the team will consider the future instead of the short term fix.
