Brett Favre Greets the Troops
Nice Surprise for Wisconsin Soldiers
The 1157th Army Transportation Company of Oshkosh got a nice surprise this week.
While the Wisconsin soldiers got ready at Camp Shelby in Mississippi to make the trek overseas to Afghanistan, they got a little pep talk and visit from former Packers quarterback Brett Favre.
After taking pictures and signing footballs, Brett did talk some football, and when asked about the Packers, he did express some shock that they didn't repeat as Super Bowl champs.
"I was a little surprised that Green Bay didn't make it," Favre exclaimed.
A soldier piped up and said, "You were? I was at that game!"
Favre added, "You know what, I knew the Giants were up, because I played against them a few years ago, and it was the same scenario. Everyone had them written off. And they just kind of peaked at the right time."
Click on the video link to see Favre's nice gesture to the troops, and maybe smaller things like this will start the healing process between the quarterback and his old team.
