Packers: And This Is How It Ends
A Stunning End To A Good, Not Great Season
At one point, I can remember how the Packers never lost a home playoff game...13-0 to be exact.
Well, that has changed, and now I've covered 4 losses in a decade.
It's also amazing to think that the Packers are the first 15-win team in the regular season to lose its first playoff game.
And being the top seed isn't what it's cracked up to be either, with the #1 team in the NFC losing 4 of the past 5 years in the first round after going 17-0 from 1990-2006.
The Packers defense not performing well, we've seen that act before. But 4 turnovers and at least 8 drops, not what we've seen out of the offense much at all.
The offense had 3 lost fumbles all season...and 3 against the Giants alone.
And when's the last time you can say Aaron Rodgers got outplayed, when he had his first lost fumble of the year, and interception...and Eli Manning threw for 300 yards for the first time in the postseason.
The Giants averaging 7 yards per play, and converting 8 of 16 on 3rd downs didn't help the cause. And now a long and interesting offseason begins far more early than anyone imagined.
