The odds are against the Packers.
Mike McCarthy is 9-1 against the Lions. The 1? An ugly 7-3 loss at Detroit last December, when Aaron Rodgers got knocked out of the game.
In 1962, the undefeated Packers went to Detroit. Bart Starr got sacked 11 times, and it turned into the only blemish in a championship season.
This year, things are stacked against the Pack, playing a third game in 11 days. Greg Jennings will play, but he's banged up. James Starks, a much bigger question mark.
And the Lions need this win to have any hope of staying in the NFC North race, and they want to prove in front of a national audience that they have arrived.
While I could see an upset, I can't pick against the Pack yet. I'm convinced they lose a game...and it's popular to think it could be this one, with the potent Matthew Stafford to Calvin Johnson combo lighting up the 31st ranked Packers pass defense.
But not now. I'm going 37-34 Packers.
