Are the Packers Stepping Into Lions Den?

As Fate Would Have It...

It's amazing how history does sometimes repeat itself.

In 1962, the 10-0 Packers went to Detroit, Bart Starr got sacked 11 times, and there went the hopes of a perfect season in a loss to the Lions.

Does the same fate, await the Packers in 2011?

Until the Packers lose, you can't bet against them.  And any team that has scored 24 or more points in every game they've played is always a threat.  Even more incredible that a team can score 35, win and say it's not a great day.

It's a little concerning when James Starks has a knee sprain, and his status is unclear until another exam when the swelling goes down on Monday.

But it's even more alarming when words like "disappointing" are used by Mike McCarthy to talk about the break down in tackling fundamentals, or the word "frustrating" is used by Aaron Rodgers to describe his play that he described as "less than my best game."

Maybe it's great that the standard is so high in Green Bay, even wins are scrutinized.  But Rodgers did point out that the Pack enters Detroit for Thanksgiving on a short week, bruised up, playing 3 games in 10 1/2 days as he put it.
