As I get my rain poncho ready for what could be a rainy day at Qualcomm Stadium in so called sunny SoCal, here are some things to consider:
The Packers are 8-1 lifetime against the Chargers, the highest winning percentage against any opponent in the NFL.
The Packers haven't had an individual rush for 100 yards in a game this season. With heavy rain possible in SoCal, this could be the day for Ryan Grant or James Starks against a banged up Chargers D. I'll go with Grant.
A key matchup tomorrow? Jordy Nelson at 6'3", 217 pounds...against San Diego CB Marcus Gilchrist at 5'10", 193 pounds. I like the Packers chances in that one.
The Packers outscoring opponents 69-10 in the third quarter, simply amazing. Allowing 3 points on first possession of 2nd half, tied for league lead? Very impressive.
And even though the Chargers are injury riddled, one cause for concern is the Chargers #2 ranked passing offense in the AFC vs. the Packers 31st ranked passing defense in the entire league. And yes, Antonio Gates is still limping along with a foot injury...but the Packers have never truly stopped him, or had a defender to control him.
I still say Packers win 31-27. Follow me on twitter @lanceallan
