If you're a Brewers fan, you have to love the numbers 24 and 23.
As we first mentioned to you last week, Sports Illustrated was in Milwaukee last week, and if all went well, they would make the cover for the first time in 24 years. That's nearly 2 and a half decades of futility.
Finally that streak is broken.
And 23 is the number of Brewers wins, and Cardinals losses, that produce the first ever NL Central title for the Crew. And the first division title in 29 years.
The Brewers 10 game lead over St. Louis is the first double digit division advantage in franchise history.
And the team is 25 games over .500 for the first time since....dare I say...the World Series season of 1982.
I'm just saying.
