Packers Preseason Recap Vs. Browns
Pack Positives and Negatives
--On the second drive, Aaron Rodgers goes 5-5, 69 yards, and just like what happened twice in Super Bowl 45, he hooks up with Greg Jennings on a touchdown. The first team offense hasn't missed a beat.
--Disappointing not to see Alex Green. No one can say for sure at this point if he can contribute at RB this season, especially on third downs.
--Mike McCarthy continued to praise rookie Randall Cobb, who seems to be at the head of the 2011 class. Smart decisive cuts on kickoff and punt returns. Three catches for 60 yards, amazing that he's this far ahead with no offseason camps.
--Derek Sherrod was the starting left guard. The Packers want to see what they have in the rookie. They know what they have in 3rd year veteran T.J. Lang. My guess is Lang will be your opening night starter.
--Frank Zombo, not Erik Walden, started at right outside linebacker. Clay Matthews didn't play. Again, this is a heated competition that will go down to the wire.
--Morgan Burnett might not be the opening night starter at safety alongside Nick Collins. But he might very well be, and he will be playing sooner rather than later. Mark my words. He looked great making open field tackles, and was more active than Charlie Peprah.
