If you ever meet Brewers bullpen catcher Marcus Hanel, you immediately realize he's a special guy, with a unique attachment to the community.
Since he's from Racine, Marcus loves the area, and loves kids. And that's where Koos for Kids comes in.
On Sunday, August 28th, the charity will hold it's 7th annual dinner/auction at Racine Festival Hall. For more info, just go to koosforkids.com
First, a large number of the team, players and coaches included, respect Marcus so much that they will be on hand.
Second, it's for such a good cause. Koos for Kids has helped terminally ill and disadvantaged kids in southeastern Wisconsin. Whether it's a new computer, a fun weekend away at the WI Dells, or playing baseball just like all kids in what's called the Challenger League, this organization does it all. Marcus asked me to be a part of the Challenger League world series, and let me tell you...to watch kids in wheelchairs, braces, and health issues get to play catch...swing a bat, or make a throw...it brings a tear to your eye.
Koos for Kids has also purchased more than 1500 coats over the past 3 years. Clearly, when they see a need...they jump in and help. So I'm asking you to do the same. The kids will love you for it.
