Central Title Within Reach
And It Should Be a Goal For the Crew
The calendar just turned to August. Do you know where your Brewers are?
Well, after beating St. Louis in the first of 12 games against the 2nd place Cardinals in the next 5 weeks, the Brewers sit 3 1/2 games up on the Redbirds in the race for the Central title.
And that's exactly what the Brewers should be thinking. Central Division championship.
Sure, it's early. They have 11 more against the Cardinals. 9 more against the Pirates. And a key four game set against the Phillies in September.
But as key as it was for the 2008 Brewers to break 26 years of futility and make the playoffs, keep in mind that it was as a Wild Card entry.
This year folks, after 29 years...the Crew should settle for nothing less than the Central crown since they haven't won their own turf since making the World Series in 1982. Besides, if they weren't in first in the Central...they'd currently be 3 games behind the Braves for the wild card.
Take destiny into your own hands Brewers, and control it.
