Woodson Reacts to End of Lockout
For Other NFL Players, It's Scramble Time
On Friday when I talked with Charles Woodson, he wasn't too happy about the deal NFL owners wanted the players to sign.
"I know you have a contract, and you wouldn't sign it if you didn't have the chance to look over it," he told me.
Now via e-mail, Woodson apparently felt more comfortable with what he was able to see, sending me a response via e-mail saying "It's a great deal for all parties involved, and I'm happy to begin preparing for a championship repeat with my teammates."
Also sometimes we think the NFL is all bright lights and glamour, but it can be a grind. Just ask former Badger Chris Maragos.
"My wife's 6 and a half months pregnant. So we have all that going on. We had an ultrasound this morning, that was up in Milwaukee. And then my workout at NX Level from 12 until about 2:30ish. And then got in the car, figured the lockout was over when I checked my phone. And headed back to Racine for an hour, packed my bags up. And booked a flight to Minneapolis. I'm actually laying over in Minneapolis tonight, staying with a buddy, and going to be heading out to San Fran tomorrow."
That's because the 49ers have to take physicals and start meetings on Wednesday, and be on the practice field Thursday. It makes my head spin just thinking about it!
