It's never a bad thing, when someone else wants your coach...and he's the top choice for the job.
But now the Panthers can breathe a little bit easier, that Rob Jeter will stay on their sideline.
Two sources tell me he's withdrawing his name from consideration for the Bradley job, which was his if he wanted it. I'm told all he had to do was sign the contract, and he would have been headed for Illinois.
Jeter was close to taking it, but he wavered and decided to stay with the Panthers, who should be good again next year. Bradley would have paid more money, and as of right now Jeter will stay with no extra pay and the 5 years left on his contract extension.
Sometimes the grass isn't always greener...and Jeter figured that out.
