There's a great Greg Howes story from the 2005 Title Wave. Down 5-1, ESPN reporter Holly Rowe is interviewing him on the bench, when he suddenly realizes it's time for his shift on the field. During a live interview, Howes says "I gotta go," runs out to near the 3-point line, and proceeds to drill a perfect pass from Todd Dusosky into the back of the net. That cut the lead to 5-3, and helped propel the Wave to a thrilling OT championship victory. As we first reported this week, the Wave looking for that same magic by bringing back the 3-time league MVP. In his native Washington, Greg Howes repeatedly tells kids that he coaches about the passion Wisconsin sports fans have for their team. So he's excited about Desmond Bishop, Jermichael Finley and Bryan Bulaga showing up at this Sunday's game. And Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers in the house on Sunday, March 13? Howes will certainly draw inspiration from that. Just like his younger Wave teammates, will draw inspiration from his ability to be a spark plug for the team.
