Lance Allan: Sports Glance with Lance

It's Great To Look Back With the Pack

And Other Preseason and Long Ago Predictions

  • Print

SI's Peter King came out and said it's Patriots and Packers in the Super Bowl.

Patriots, no stretch.  Packers, maybe not as big of a stretch as what you'd think, since defense wins championships, and I don't think the offense will ever play that bad.  But I'm still not buying that they're Dallas bound.

But at least King is sticking to his preseason prediction.  Here's a few more from various media outlets that I saved from the beginning of the regular season:

The Packers #1 in the preaseson power rankings.  Now no one could pull a Miss Cleo and predict how many injuries the Packers would have, but they're not #1.  Patriots, Steelers and Falcons are clearly better.  You could make an argument that they slip behind those three in the top five.

Justin Harrell Shows He Belongs.  I kid you not, that's a headline I found online.  This guy clearly doesn't believe in marijuana for just medicinal purposes.

Chargers, Packers fit the profile of Super Bowl contenders.  Well, at least one's still alive.  And it's not the best city in So Cal.

Vikings odds-on favorite to win the NFC North.  Let's see.  After the dome deflates, your quarterback gets caught in a texting scandal, and your head coach loses the team...yeah, that one worked out well.

Vikings owner Zygi Wilf:  We Will Have Our Best Team.   See above.  The man is delusional.  But if he's right, the Vikes will never finish better than last, and never have more than 6 wins.  And that's a good thing for Packers fans.
