Packers Playoff Hopes Fade
Here's the Breakdown
Swallow hard Packers fans, and think of this:
A Bears win next week, and a Packers loss at New England...and the NFC North title, goes to Chicago. The tiebreakers don't favor the Pack, no matter what happens in that final game the day after New Year's Day.
While I believe Aaron Rodgers second concussion of the year isn't that serious, and that after he gets over his headache and performs a battery of tests, he could practice on Thursday and play, the Packers playoff picture is even more murky. Consider this:
Right now, the division leaders are Atlanta (11-2 with an inside track to home field advantage) in the South, the 9-4 Bears, either the 8-4 Eagles or the 8-4 Giants in the East, and yes, either the 6-7 Rams or the 6-7 Seahawks in the pathetic West (consider that the 49ers, at 5-8, control their own destiny and would make the postseason if they win out! Pick straws already!).
So right now, that leaves the wild card for the Pack. The Super Bowl champion Saints, at 10-3...almost have a lock on one. So then it's either the 8-4 Giants (whom the Packers play), or the 8-4 Eagles, or the 8-5 Bucs that the Packers are fighting for that final spot.
After losing to the 3-10 Lions, sadly the Packers deserve this uphill climb and fate.
