I don't know if I've seen a more amazing transformation in recent college football.
Four years ago, I remember going to Pewaukee High School for the signing of a young tight end, who was going to Central Michigan. His name? J.J. Watt.
Who would have thought that after switching numbers to 99, switching across the line to the defensive side of the ball, and gaining untold pounds...he would now be the de-facto mayor of Madison. Click on the video link to see the Madison madness last Saturday.
Barring labor unrest in the NFL, I personally feel like he should declare himself eligible for the 2011 draft. I mean c'mon...sacks, forcing fumbles, causing interceptions, blocking extra points...somebody better make sure the guy doesn't drive the bus to Pasadena.
The only other item that struck me, while we wait to see what happens is Bret Bielema admitting that he cleared his schedule this week, to get in front of every mic he can to try and hype the Badgers slim chances for an unlikely National Championship appearance. Probably not going to happen, but at least that motion W stands for forward thinking at Wisconsin.
