With the Little League World Series starting up this week, we have to honor our little local heros...that almost made it to Williamsport, PA.
The Burlington 12-year-olds won the state title, and represented Wisconsin extremely well in the Great Lakes Regional. Even got a little love on ESPN2.
Trailing Moline, Illinois...Burlington's Houston Cowan hit a 3-run homer...to cut the lead to one.
Unfortunately, Burlington couldn't make up the full deficit and lost by the slimmest of margins, 6-5.
Congrats to these fine young gentlemen...and the future remains bright in Burlington, since I'm told the 10-11 year old baseball team won the State Championship as well!
