Carole Meekins: Positively Milwaukee

Fall in Milwaukee

  • Print

We are now heading into my favorite time of the year. I love fall. The color of the sky, the crisp autumn air, and even the gray gloomy days.

I've noticed just a few trees in our yard have started to change. But still, the cooler temperatures make me feel alive.

If you really want to enjoy fall, you have to check out one of our many local parks. Milwaukee County has more than 140 parks and parkways. We are blessed.

There is absolutely no excuse not to enjoy nature. With 15 thousand acres, there is something for everyone. From the Mitchell Park Domes to Washington Park, to Lake Park, there are always splendid sights to explore.

I never cease to be amazed at the natural beauty in the Milwaukee area.

So many people complain that there's nothing to do. I don't understand that. With a great park system, the sky is the limit.

Of course, we'd better enjoy it now, before our beautiful parkways are impassable with ice and snow.
