Carole Meekins: Positively Milwaukee

Go Greendale Panthers!!!

A Winning Team

  • Print

A reminder, you can still enjoy football this weekend and while helping an injured child.

This weekend the Greendale Panthers Semi-Pro Football team will play their first home game. It's this Saturday 7 p.m. at Greendale High School.

Part of the proceeds will go to the Guardian Ava fund. It was established in memory of 5-year-old Ava Zimmerman who was killed by a distracted driver last year.

Supporters of the fund are trying to get an accessible van for Xavier Davis-Bilbo. The 6-year-old Milwaukee boy was paralyzed by a driver who was texting.

For more information on tickets, you can call 414-588-9895.

By the way, Jeramy Melka, coach of the Greendale Panthers, tells me his team won its first game of the season last week.

So congratulations to the Melka and the Panthers. True winners on and off the field.
