Bread of Healing
I feel so blessed. Often my Positively Milwaukee pieces inspire reaction and others are helped. I cannot tell you how good that makes me feel.
To connect those with a heart, to those in need is wonderful.
This week, we did a piece on the wonderful free services offered by the Bread of Healing Clinic at Cross Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.
At the end of the piece I mentioned that the newly renovated clinic is in need of air-conditioning. Well, I got a call from a local contractor who works at a business in Sussex. He hopes to be of service. He was planning to check it to see if there is something he might do.
The building is older, and the clinic is in the basement. There may be some challenges, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
But that call is just a small example of the good that happens all over Wisconsin a daily basis.
There are many everyday heroes who do not make the headlines. They are not in gangs, not on drugs. They don't steal, rob, abandon their kids, and most even drive the speed limit. (smiles).
They are ordinary citizens quietly going about their business, working hard, providing for their families. And when they are moved to help, they do.
Too bad these people do not get the publicity over the bad guys. But let's face it; It is human nature to be drawn to the aberrant, odd, and unusual even the horrific.
Still, it sure feels good to know that despite many awful people you see on the news, most people in Southeastern Wisconsin, or anywhere else for that matter, are good decent law abiding citizens, who are not devoid of compassion.
Those constant positive thoughts, always make my day.
