The 2011 Atlantic Hurricane Season came to an end Wednesday and it was another active season, as predicted. The hurricane season runs from June 1st until November 30th and is all because of water temperature. During this period of time, the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico are at least 80 degrees; the critical temperature for tropical storm and hurricane development. Hurricanes do not like cold water and once we get into December, the water temperatures are too cool for tropical development. Cold water is the reason why the west coast does not have to worry about hurricanes. The Pacific Ocean is in the 50s and 60s, which is way too cold for tropical storms.

Working the late shows tonight and in the Grafton Christmas parade Saturday morning..the biggest Christmas parade next to Milwaukee's. It has been so cold the past 4 years but tomorrow will be in the 50s...and raining. That means a hostile crowd.

My dad returned tonight from deer hunting up north. They survived 9 days in a tent in the forest and all he kept saying was that I nailed the snow forecast last Saturday and the weather was ideal the entire time. I made my dad proud..haha.

The forecast for Milwaukee, Waukesha and SE Wisconsin is for a partly to mostly cloudy sky with no rain, a light breeze and highs in the mid 40s..a typical late November day. Lows tonight will be in the 30s with clouds and we remain mostly cloudy on Tuesday as a storm system passes to our south. There is a chance for scattered rain showers from Milwaukee and areas south but it will be very light rain as the heavy precipitation remains in Illinois and Indiana. Highs will be in the mid 40s again with a NE breeze.
