  • Big Warm Up Today...

What a roller coaster ride with temperatures the past few days. Yesterday was 42 degrees colder than Wednesday in Milwaukee and the heat is on today with a one degree warm up from yesterday..one degree! Turn on the AC. Stay cool.

  • Today is...

Nursing assistants drink a glass of refreshing iced tea and use a ball point pen to sign off on charts during their break. It's Nursing Assistant Day as well as Iced Tea and Ball Point Pen Day. I was wondering when the pen would get a day.

  • Another Fall Day...Rainy Night

After rain showers and isolated downpours this morning, the rain has stopped for the rest of the afternoon except for scattered sprinkles or drizzle from the cloud cover. Today will be another fall day with highs in the 50s and maybe lower 60s west of Waukesha.

  • Last day of school

Ali's last day of school is today and she was sad this morning. She loves school, her friends, teachers and riding the bus and she does not want it to end.

  • Wind Chill Replaces Heat Index

Fall has returned after three hot and humid days in the 90s this week and we have replaced heat index with wind chill. At noon today, Milwaukee was 50 degrees, or 42 degrees cooler than Wednesday’s high temperature and 47 degrees cooler than Tuesday’s record high. Many of you wanted relief, but this is a bit drastic. Highs today will be in the 50s with a gusty NE wind and clouds…there is a wind chill.

  • Big day!

Tuesday was a huge day in the Gotter house...Ali graduated from Kindergarten. Yes, little Ali is growing up!

  • Severe Thunderstorm Watch

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for all of southern Wisconsin until 11pm this evening as a cold front moves through the state and brings much cooler temperatures the rest of the week.

  • On This Date in 2008

Do you remember what happened on this date and the day before in Milwaukee and southern Wisconsin? How about a severe weather outbreak with numerous tornado warnings, large hail (almost softball size in Delafield) and downpours of rain that broke the 24 and 48 hour rainfall records for most of the area. Milwaukee had 4.93" on June 7 and 2.25" on the 8th for a 48 hour total of 7.18"

  • Creme Puff Legislation

Are you kidding me? With all the issues this state is facing, the legislature just passed a bill making the Creme Puff the State Dessert. As you know, I love Creme Puffs, even after eating a 5 pounder in a few minutes at the State Fair, but Custard is my favorite and a Wisconsin staple! Everyone comes to Wisconsin and asks for our delicious custard, not a creme puff.

  • A Father Delivers!

My father-in-law, Chris, delivered on his promise to Tina to bring Florida weather with him on his visit to our house this past week. It has been 90s and humid the past 3 days and warm since he arrived last Wednesday, making his daughter very happy. She has not been a fan of this spring weather at all.

  • Another Hot One..Stormy Afternoon and Evening

After a record high of 97 on Tuesday, more heat and humidity is expected today with highs near the record of 93 from 1933. It won’t be as hot as yesterday and some areas will remain in the 80s due to morning showers and T’storms..the clouds are helping to keep it cooler.

  • Heat Is On

You have complained for months about the cold, and dreariness and you wanted summer, well it is here in full force. 96 right now in Milwaukee which ties a record from 1933. It will be a hot and humid night with lows in the 70s, our normal high temperatures for this time of year.

  • Joplin

Two weeks ago today I walked into work and was told I was heading to Joplin, Missouri to cover the devastating tornado. I rushed home, packed my bags, and photojournalist Ira Klusendorf and I were in rainy Joplin by 8pm. The Joplin area had 9” of rain on Monday hampering rescue efforts. We could see damage for about a block in the darkness, but morning sun shed light on the extent of the devastation. It was heartbreaking.

  • MACC Open Golf Outing

I am honored to be golfing in the Chili's MACC Open at Tuckaway CC on Monday for the 4th year in a row. I have made so many great friends through the MACC Fund, including John Cary and my great friend Brandon Novack!

  • Donuts, I said Donuts!

Today is National Donut Day and Repeat Yourself Day. Today is National Donut Day and Repeat Yourself Day.

  • A Great Weekend...Finally!

A warm front has brought warmer temperatures and more humidity for today but with the wind being SSE and off the lake, highs near the lake will be near 70 while inland areas will be in the upper 80s this afternoon. There is a very slight chance of an isolated pop up shower this afternoon and a better chance of scattered showers and T’storms later this evening and overnight with lows in the mid to upper 60s…it will be a muggy night.

  • Grab a Scoop of Rocky Road

Back by popular demand, today is National Rocky Road Day, Bubba Day, Tailor's Day and Leave the Office Early Day.

  • Busy First Day

It's has been a fast & busy first day back to work, deleting 1000 emails and doing Green Bay weather for our sister station, in addition to doing the normal daily weather forecats for TMJ4 and AM 620. The day has been a blur!

  • Cooler Today...Heat & Humidity Tomorrow

Memorial Day is the unofficial start to summer and the weather has felt like summer with a high of 88 and humid on Monday, 85 Tuesday and 79 yesterday. Today will be cooler thanks to easterly winds coming around an area of high pressure to our north. Highs along the lake will be in the 50s and areas west of Waukesha will be near 70 with a partly cloudy sky. The high pressure is keeping the northern half of the state sunny and keeping heavy rain into Illinois today, but a few clouds and a stray shower are possible around Milwaukee this afternoon…most of us stay dry.

  • I'm Back

It has been a crazy week and a half and today is my first day back in the office in almost 2 weeks. I have some office stuff to catch up on and then I will catch all of you up on my emotional trip to Joplin and my vacation to Oklahoma at my parents house.
