The forecast for Milwaukee, Waukesha and SE Wisconsin is for rain showers changing to snow this afternoon with highs near 40. All of SE Wisconsin is under a Winter Storm Warning through the evening...its the first warning of the winter season. The snow will begin to fall after 3pm and will be heavy at times during the evening commute with low visibility and rapid accumulation. The Milwaukee area will receive a quick 2-4" of snow by 7pm and the winds will be gusting to 35 mph. The snow will not be blowing and drifting because this will be very heavy, wet snow. The snow will continue until midnight with an additional 2-4" of snow...heaviest to the north.
This weekend will be cloudy and colder with highs in the low to mid 30s. It will be breezy with wind chills near 20 and light snow is possible both days with less than an inch of accumulation each day. Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the 50s!
