Kansas City Weekend Weather..so much more
The cold air returns today with highs near 30 and sunshine, but that is where we should be this time of year…so cold fronts are not bringing arctic air, but normal air. I am not trying to make snow lovers even more upset, but the rain we had this week with highs in the 50s would have been 6-10” of snow if this was a normal December. That hurts.
Now it gets colder and the sun will dominate for today and clouds and flurries return tonight and Saturday. That has been the weather pattern..sunny and seasonably chilly or cloudy, mild and rainy. On this date in 1987, we were cleaning up from a powerful snowstorm that dropped 13.1” of snow in Milwaukee the day before with thunder snow and 70 mph winds.
Christmas is just more than a week away and there is a chance for snow Tuesday and Friday. Maybe we will get our first 1” snowfall Christmas Day?
If you are heading to Kansas City this weekend to watch the Packers it will be sunny and 50 for Saturday and sunny and 52 on Sunday during the game. Rain showers move in late Sunday night and if you are driving home Monday, it will be a rainy drive, but no snow is expected once again from Missouri to Wisconsin during the day.
