Snow Showers...Cold Wind
After heavy rain overnight and early this morning, the forecast for Milwaukee, Waukesha and SE Wisconsin for the rest of the day is blustery with scattered rain and snow showers. The high was 47 earlier today, but temperatures will be in the upper 30s with wind chills in the 20s by 5pm. The center of the storm system passes right over Milwaukee, so we got a little break from the rain, like the eye of the hurricane, but expect more showers this afternoon. As temperatures drop, expect to see snowflakes mixing in with the rain across the Milwaukee area with no accumulation expected.
It has been snowing in Fond du Lac and Dodge counties all morning and they could see 1-2” of accumulation snow on the grass today. Central and northern Wisconsin will see 5-8” of snow.
The precipitation tapers off by evening and the clouds clear out overnight and it gets cold with lows in the 20s inland and near 30 along the lake. Wind winds will be as low as 18 west of Waukesha by morning.
Thursday will start of sunny, but clouds will develop in the afternoon with an isolated chance of a shower and a few snowflakes. Highs will only be in the 30s and gusty winds will keep wind chills in the 20s.
After lows in the 20s Friday morning, highs on Friday afternoon will be in the upper 40s with a gusty SW wind.
The weekend looks mild with 50s on Saturday and sunshine and windy and 60 on Sunday with a few showers possible.
