The forecast for Milwaukee, Waukesha, and SE Wisconsin is for scattered rain showers to become more numerous later this afternoon and evening. Also expect heavy downpours at times, especially along the lakefront. The wind will also be increasing throughout the day with gusts by this afternoon approaching 40mph. As a result, a wind advisory goes into effect for most of the inland counties and a high wind warning for Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha counties. Highs today will only be in the upper 40s.
The rain showers will be heavy at times overnight with an inch of rain expected from Milwaukee to Kenosha and lesser amounts inland. The winds will be gusting over 50mph tonight along the lakefront and between 35 and 45 mph west of Waukesha. Lows tonight will be near 40.
The rain and wind will continue Thursday morning and taper off in the afternoon with highs near 50.
Thursday night will be cold with lows in the 30s with a freeze west of Waukesha and patchy frost even in Milwaukee and along the lake. The sun returns for Friday with a light breeze and highs in the mid 50s.
The weekend still looks great with highs in the upper 50s and sunshine until late Sunday when a few showers could pop up.
