Labor Day Weather
Happy Labor Day everyone…it’s the unofficial end of summer, and the weather always seems to cooperate with our first real taste of fall.
Today will be sunny, but the air will be dry and cool with highs in the 60s with a chilly breeze. Expect sunshine most of this week with highs in the low to mid 70s and lows in the 50s…normal for this time of year.
Everyone is excited about the Packers game on Thursday and the early word is sunshine for tailgating with highs in the lower 70s and temperatures falling into the upper 50s by the end of the game..perfect football weather.
Memorial Day has a reputation of bad weather while Labor Day has beautiful weather to say goodbye to summer. Memorial Day has an average high of 70 degrees and an average low of 50 compared to Labor Day’s 76 and 59. The hottest temperature on Labor Day in Milwaukee is 94 back in 1959…the coldest is 43 degrees in 1946. The warmest Memorial Day was in 1994 with a high of 91 and the coldest is 33 from 1961. Both holidays are in the 90s only 1% of the time in Milwaukee, but Labor Day is in the 70s and 80s 72% of the time compared to 40% on Memorial Day. On the other hand, Milwaukee is in the 60s 40% of the time on Memorial Day and 20% on Labor Day.
