Brian Gotter: Welcome Back, Gotter

On This Date in 2008

Do you remember what happened on this date and the day before in Milwaukee and southern Wisconsin?  How about a severe weather outbreak with numerous tornado warnings, large hail (almost softball size in Delafield) and downpours of rain that broke the 24 and 48 hour rainfall records for most of the area.  Milwaukee had 4.93" on June 7 and 2.25" on the 8th for a 48 hour total of 7.18"

Areas west of Milwaukee, from Waukesha to the Wisconsin Dells, were dumped on with 10-18" of rain.  All this rain caused serious flooding issues and eventually caused Lake Delton to be completely drained after land was washed away.  I will never forget that image of a house floating down the river.  I can't believe it was already 3 years ago!
