I feel compelled to give Donald Driver a shout out.   And maybe not for the reason you think ---

Yes, the Packers wide receiver has caught the most passes in Green Bay's franchise history.

Yes, Donald Driver is one of the most inspiring players in the NFL... having risen to the top of his game after spending a portion of his life homeless.

And yes, all Donald Driver has to do is flash that trademark smile to win the hearts of football fans the world over.

But I'm here to tell you that, beyond all of his accomplishments, Donald Driver just seems to be an honest to goodness good guy.

My husband and I had a chance to spend a little bit of time with Donald last week:  For the fourth straight year, Scott Steele and I co-hosted a fundraiser for Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin at the Hyatt downtown. 

Betina Driver, Donald's lovely wife, is honorary chair of the event.  And the entire Driver family usually models in the fashion show.

But hosting this year's show came with an extra-special perk for me and Taylor and Scott and his wife Rachel.  This year, we had a chance to have a little quality one-on-one time with Donald.

We spent about 15 minutes with him, chatting about everything from football to our young families.   Here we all are in Donald's hotel room:

Donald couldn't have been more kind, sincere or gracious.  He was even nicer than we expected him to be.  And the same is true of his wife.  Scott and I had a chance to speak briefly with Betina before the start of the show.  It is clear she is also a good, and well-grounded person.

So I'm here to tell you that #80... is awesome, a class act.

Here's to his success now, and for many years to come.
