As much as I write about Scott Steele... people must think I spend my waking hours obsessed about him.

But there's yet another piece of newsworthy information that I have to share about my good friend.

You know how during the week...  when Scott's not doing weather... he does actual news reporting?

Well, the reason he does actual news reporting... is that he's really very, very good at it. 

In fact, he's so good at it that --- get this --- Scott has just been nominated for a regional Emmy award in the category of "Best News Reporter"!

That's right... our weekend weather guy... could win one of the business's most presigious awards...  for news reporting!!

He's up against some other guy from one of our local competing stations... and a some reporters from Chicago.

(Did I mention that Chicago is one of the biggest news markets in the country?)

What's ironic about this whole thing... is that just this week when Scott was covering breaking news, someone called our news desk to ask why the weather guy was doing a crime story.

Well the reason is this: Scott is a trusted source in the weather department... and in our newsroom.

The Emmy Awards will be held sometime next month in Chicago.
