Mr. & Mrs. Scott Steele

By Shelley Walcott

There is no way I would have missed Scott's wedding.

Our weekend weather guy is more than just a colleague to me.  He is my "brother-from-another-mother", a man so kind even my husband Taylor seems to have a soft spot for him.

And just when we thought there was no room for improvement, Scott found his lovely Rachel.  A person so generous, loving, and unpretentious --- the perfect extension to Scott's personality.

So Taylor and I jumped at the opportunity to take the kids, and head up to Scott and Rachel's wedding in Philadelphia.  (Rachel's home town.)

It is with Scott's permission that I share a few details and pictures from his incredible wedding day:

Scott and Rachel were married last Sunday at The National Constitution Center in Philly.   It was a very emotional and traditional Jewish ceremony that took place in the museum's atrium, with a reception following in the Grand Hall Overlook upstairs.

This is a picture of Scott and Rachel under the chuppah, or Jewish wedding canopy.  There were 40 attendants in the wedding, who walked in to the soft sounds of a string quartet.   Rachel walked in to "Pachelbel's Canon", one of the most romantic classical pieces of music ever written.

All of the men at the wedding... including my husband and TMJ4's George Mallet...  wore yarmulkas, small caps or head coverings.

After the ceremony, it was time to move upstairs for some serious dancing.  Scott and Rachel hired an incredible band!

My seven-year-old daughter Ashley had a blast dancing with the bride and groom!  (My 15-month-old son Noah was safely tucked away back at the hotel... my sister-in-law took the train in from New Jersey so she could babsit for us!)

Isn't Ashley adorable?  Taylor and I cleaned up pretty good too, I think!

But it was Rachel and Scott's day, and there was so much love in that room!

But forget about them... how about that chocolate fountain!!!

(But I digress...)

Scott and Rachel are now honeymooning in Greece.  Mazel Tov to a great couple.  What an awesome wedding.  I can hardly wait until the housewarming.  These kids throw one heck of a party!
