If you're looking to get married, and haven't had much luck so far, you may want to consider applying for a job at Channel 4.  In the last year-and-a-half  or so, there have been a whopping SEVEN engagements in our newsroom.  Reporters Mick Trevey, Courtny Gerrish,  Lauren Leamanczyk, Heather Shannon and producers Lacey Krans and Mike Ryan.  And Mick and Mike have already hightailed it down the aisle!

Now comes word that one of my favorite people at Channel 4 --- the adorable Jay Olstad --- is also getting hitched!! 

I gave Jay a big hug when I heard the news.  He gave me permission to mention his engagement in my blog.  Jay proposed to his girlfriend Lauren at a very romantic spot overlooking Lake Michigan.  How wonderful is that!  I met Lauren a few weeks ago at a party, and she is just the sweetest person.  Jay and Lauren are a beautiful couple --- and I wish them all the best!

I love hearing about all the details as Courtny, Lacey, Lauren and Heather plan their weddings.  Women tend to get very detailed oriented as they prepare the biggest bash of their lives.  And it's so cool looking at pictures of wedding dresses, reception halls and honeymoon destinations.  It reminds me of everything I went through 14 years ago when I got married.

(That's right 14!!  And yes, I did get married quite young!)

Congratulations again Jay!  You are now a part of a very special little club...
