It's hard enough trying to sleep when you're pregnant. But try sleeping with your unborn child and a precocious six-year-old. That's what I've been dealing with all week long! And I'm sleep deprived because of it.
Ashley just won't stay in her bed these days. She's been creeping into our room at around 2 a.m. every morning. And I just don't know why.
She's not having bad dreams. The house isn't cold. God knows she's eating enough. But she just keeps waking up, and wandering in!
And she's not a very gracious guest either. When Ashley comes into bed with us it's elbows and legs everywhere. And if I move the wrong way... would you believe that child has the nerve to complain!
Usually when she comes in, she'll say, "Hi Mommy!" and I grunt somthing back. But the other night I just opened my eyes and found her wedged in. I seriously don't remember how she got there. I'm pretty sure our bed doesn't have a trap door!
Maybe I should lock our door, or tell her to go back to her room. But Taylor and I just don't have the heart. We don't want to give the kid a complex!
So here we are: Ashley's more relaxed and refreshed than ever... and Taylor and I are at our wits end.
What's a mommy to do?
