Brett Favre

By Carole Meekins

No doubt, Brett Favre will hear a chorus of boos this weekend when he returns to Lambeau Field for the first time since becoming a Viking. But wouldn't it be nice if there was a show of civility. It would be kind if people applauded Favre in the beginning as a thanks for the great memories, but then Packers fans moving on to cheer the Pack. But my guess is the boos will outweigh the cheers. The latest online poll by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel shows more people would boo than cheer. But perhaps that is the world we live in today. Many want to share their emotions immediately. If they happen to be negative, mean spirited, or vindictive, they don't care. Others just revel in the bad energy. Personally, I am not a big booer anyhow. What good does it do? I do not have tickets to this weekend's coveted matchup. But if I did, I would applaud Brett Favre, and then go on to applaud the Packers.
