PACKERS-TITANS PREDICTION

KEEP IN MIND, I'M 6-1 ON THE YEAR!

By Lance Allan

Forget Danny Sheridan, the Barking Dog or Jimmy "Masterlock" Duggan.  If you want as good as a guarantee when it comes to the Packers, look no farther than right here.

I'm 6-1 on the year...and the only one on the Packers Gameday pregame show to predict the Packers would beat the Colts.

That being said, I'm not as confident on this one...but hit my music, I'm ready to dance!

When the Packers have the ball:  They have to run the ball a little.  But Albert Haynesworth, all 320 pounds of him, is a beast.  And defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch (labeled a more athletic Aaron Kampman) and Jevon Kearse are smart enough to funnel most plays inside to the big d tackle.  But the Packers can win this game by throwing the ball.  Yes, I said win.  Aaron Rodgers is rested after the bye, and even though CB Cortland Finnegan and FS Michael Griffin are two young talents, they're still young and can be taken advantage of.

When the Titans have the ball:  After Kerry Collins marched the Titans down the field on a TD scoring drive in the preseason against the Pack, I told someone they might be better off with the veteran at QB.  Packers GM Ted Thompson salivated at trying to draft Vince Young in '06, but he never had the chance...and it's better off that he didn't come to Green Bay.  Collins isn't doing anything spectacular, but he's a cement block in the pocket...and if the Packers can push the pocket like they did against Peyton Manning, they can force him into mistakes.  Don't forget, Tennessee is on a short week, coming off an emotional win over division rival Indy.

The Titans don't have much for receivers, so they go to tight end's Bo Scaife and Alge Crumpler more often.  Expect to see more of Brandon Chillar.  And the secondary should get a big boost in run support if Atari Bigby can go, which is expected.  The thunder and lightning dimension of LenDale White (250 pounds) and Chris Johnson (4.26 40 speed) is impressive...so if Justin Harrell plays this week, buddy, it's about time to show why the Packers had so much faith in you with the 16th overall pick.

Prediction:  The Titans are due for a loss.  SURPRISE....this is the week!   The Packers are rested and ready.  24-20 Packers.  We'll see if I'm right...
