Sports Glance With LancePACKERS-SEAHAWKS PREDICTIONIT'S GETTING TENSE!By Lance AllanWanna know how bad things are for both the 2-3 Packers and the 1-3 Seahawks? Mike McCarthy admits behind closed doors, he's let his team have it. And according to good friend Pete Dougherty in the Green Bay Press Gazette, Matt Hasselbeck says Mike Holmgren is tense, and laid into the offense this week. One Mike will find relief and redemption, even if for a week. The other will become Mount Mike, and explode. Last week for the first time, I made a wrong prediction for the Pack. So at 4-1, here goes nothing:
When the Seahawks have the ball: It is inexcusable that the Packers never sacked rookie QB Matt Ryan once last week. And this week, Matt Hasselbeck is likely out with a knee injury. Seneca Wallace is out with a calf injury, so they're down to third stringer Charlie Frye. If you don't sack him at least 3 times, you might as well ever forget about putting heat on the QB this year. But Seattle is 6th in the NFL in rushing offense, with Julius Jones and company averaging 143 yards per game. The Packers sieve run D better plug the holes.

When the Packers have the ball: There are no excuses for Ryan Grant, the offensive line, and the offense, period if they don't put up points and yards this week. Seattle just gave up a staggering 523 total yards to the Giants, as New York scored on its first 5 possessions. The Hawks gave up 254 yards on the ground, including 4 runs of 20 yards or more. The Giants also threw around, over and through Seattle's swiss cheese defense. A strainer lets thru fewer things.
Prediction? I think the Packers fix just enough of the problems to prolong Holmy's misery. Mike Holmgren is usually a smart tactition. Why he decided to tell everyone this was his last year coaching in Seattle is anyone's guess, because his so-called victory lap season has backfired. Maybe it's because his last year in Green Bay was filled with such swirling speculation that he wanted to be up front about it. Still, it hasn't helped...and it won't again this week. Packers win 30-27.
