PARTY LIKE A ROCK STAR...BREWERS STYLE

THE DROUGHT IS OVER!

By Lance Allan

Time to put your goggles on, spray the champagne, and celebrate Milwaukee..because 26 years of being in baseball's wasteland is over.

BREWERS FEVER IS ON LIKE DONKEY KONG...and here comes the post season for the first time since 1982!

Our photojournalists got some incredible pictures of the event, so click on the video link to see some of the interviews I did as the bubbly and the beer was flying!  Now I'm just trying to figure out who'll pick up my dry cleaning bill on my suit...since I smell like stale beer.

Like Robin Yount told me, the taste of champagne is sweet...because he hasn't tasted it since 1982.  Bob Uecker told me he only brought one suit to the ball park, because as he said, call me an idiot...because he knew they were going to win and get it.  And like Seth McClung told me, since they're in it, why not win it...with all the ups and downs they've overcome already, it might make them tougher for the postseason.   Just consider the hour timeline that changed Milwaukee baseball:

3:05pm  Cubs reliever Michael Wuertz walks in a run with the bases loaded, tying the game at 1 in the 7th.

3:15pm  Wes Helms, remember him?  The former Brewer helps out his old team by hitting the game winning homer for the Marlins in their victory over the Mets.

3:22pm   Just 7 minutes later, Ryan Braun, hurt ribs and all, cracks a 2-run HR in the 8th to put the Crew up 3-1.

3:33pm  11 minutes after that, Super Freak CC Sabathia finishes his complete game 4-hitter...on 3 days rest!

4:04pm   After a 31 minute wait, the Brewers finally watch the final out...and it's time to party all night, and stay a little longer at Miller Park.

Does this team still have defensive deficiencies?  Sure.  I'm still not sold on the bullpen.  The offense still isn't clicking, relying too much on homers.  And who knows how many pitchers they'll have...just about everyone's arm is ready to fall off, and talking with Ben Sheets I'm not sold he'll be ready to go in this series.

But you know what?  At least we can argue if they have a chance...because they do have a chance.  They're in!
