Favre Breaks Down Meeting Make-A-Wish Kid

By Lance Allan

Brett Favre may be the Iron Man of the NFL...but underneath that tough exterior, is a heart as soft as a feather filled pillow.

Favre lost it during an awards ceremony from the Make-A-Wish Foundation...and what brought this tough guy, to tears?  Just a little 9-year-old named Anna Walentowski, a Neenah girl that Brett met 3 years ago.

Favre said it was great to see her doing well and looking so cute...so my wish is granted.

And that's when his voice cracked.

You see, in 2004 Anna nearly died from a rare brain disorder before meeting her hero...then nearly lost her life several other times.  Today she's doing better, thanks to the hope she gained from that wish granted 3 years ago.

When I asked Brett how he feels giving these kids hope, he said "it's a wish for me to see Anna doing better, and my hope is that all of these kids can do better.  We all know that's not the case, but I'm just so happy to see her standing beside me."

The amazing thing to me?  Three years ago, Anna asked Brett how his thumb was doing, since he was hurt...with no regard to her own health.  Today, when Brett breaks down?  Anna comforts him with a hug.
