Sports Glance With LanceNOW THIS IS CLASSIC SPORTSTHE AWA RETURNS TO MILWAUKEEBy Lance AllanC'mon now, you can admit it. Whether it was before church, or after church on Sunday mornings...you gathered around the TV with your Dad, your brothers, or just yourself...and watched the stars...and the superstars of the AWA...the American Wrestling Association! Every Sunday I'd plop down on the floor in front of the TV, and listen to Mean Gene Okerlund, Wally Karbo (whom Jesse The Body always called Wally Caribou) and Roger Kent describe the action in the squared circle...and be totally outraged when the bad guy had to resort to illegal tactics (c'mon, somebody ring the bell and end this!).
I still remember my Dad teasing me when I was little, growling like the Baron that he was going to put the claw on me...and I'd run away laughing! Last December, you might remember that I wrestled Doink The Clown, and it was a personal treat to have the Baron manage me to victory...complete with a claw slapped on Doink's dome, as I got the roll up victory! Well, this Sunday you can see the heros of your youth one more time. At the Ramada Convention Center (13th and College), these two along with Verne Gagne, Nick Bockwinkel, Dr. X, The High Flyers and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan will make a special appearance at the Legends of Wrestling Fan Fest. For more info, call Dave Herro at (262) 573-5397 or go to www.LegendsofWrestlingFanFest.com
Listen and learn, you little humanoid. Because if you don't go, especially with the Packers not playing...you just don't have a "Brain." Emails welcome at lallan@todaystmj4.com

Oh yeah, who can forget these two? Mad Dog Vachon, and the Clawmaster Baron Von Raschke?
