THE FAVRE FOLLIES
NOW IT'S ON LIKE DONKEY KONG
Lance Allan
Maybe the T-Mobile add was correct. Brett Favre, at a podium...says after 17 years in the NFL, I'd like to say hello.
That my friends, is the definition of art imitating life.
But here's some of the info I've gleaned:
Scott Favre, Brett's brother, told me in a candid interview that it looks like Brett isn't wanted, and adds that nobody's said they wanted him back.
"Why go back to Green Bay and play when he's not wanted."
Scott also says never say never in returning to the Packers, but he doesn't know how they'd get along now.
I'll say face it, it's over.
Other strong takes: Don Beebe tells us there will be more controversy to come, some people siding with the Packers and understanding it, and others upset with the Packers for not taking him back. It's a no win situation for the Pack.
LeRoy Butler says the Packers have been run by Brett for years, and he doesn't blame the team for moving on. He would have stuck to his word and retired.
Al Jones admitted to me that Brett probably retired a little early, and he hoped he didn't live to regret it. And it looks like that's happening a little now.
And Aaron Rodgers continues to play it cool, saying rumors are rumors and nothing will affect his preparation.
I'm sure things will get more interesting...and ugly in the days to come!
