"Friday Night Lights"

I've written here in the past about how much I like the show "Friday Night Lights".  I just read an article indicating it is on the way back.

However, like last season, it's initially going to run ONLY on DirecTV this fall and winter.  As I understand it, the season premiere ran on DirecTV this past Wednesday.  Those of us who don't have DirecTV, won't be able to watch the new season (#4) until 2010...probably in the spring or summer.

The article I read about the show indicates that they are also committed to a season #5 of the show as well...but that too will be a DirecTV thing first, with NBC viewers having to wait.

When we left Coach Taylor, he got run from his job as coach of the Dillon Panthers, landing at much worse East Dillon High School.  It's a run-down school with poor facilities and a lack of talented football players.

That said, for those of you who don't know, "Friday Night Lights" is about so much more than football.  Relationships between Coach Taylor and his wife Tami, between the 2 of them and their kids, between the high school kids, etc.

We don't yet know exactly when it will premiere on NBC, but I can't wait.  My DVR is awaiting.
