Twenty years ago today, tree limbs and power lines came down across Milwaukee due to a heavy October snowfall.

Milwaukee received 6.3 inches of heavy, wet snow in 1989 from late October 19th through October 20th.

This is the record snowfall for so early in the season…and therefore the record for the month of October.

**Interesting footnote:  3 days later, the high temperature was 71 degrees…and 7 of the next 8 days had highs in the 70s.
